Dr. Greta McLaren graduated in the top of her class from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a B.A. in Biology and then earned her Medical Degree from and continues her affiliation as an Assistant Clinical Professor for the prestigious University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver. She received her Board Certification in 1991 specializing in primary care, with a focus on Sports Medicine, Orthopedic injuries, and Dermatology. In addition, she was one of the first physicians in Colorado to train in the field of aesthetic laser surgery. As an expert in her field of Cosmetic Laser Procedures, Dr. McLaren has taught her fellow physicians throughout the United States for many years and continues to train resident physicians. She has also authored a book chapter on the subject of photodynamic therapies for treatment of precancerous lesions and various skin conditions. With her diverse and extensive training in dermatologic, orthopedic and degenerative diseases and her advanced training in liposculpting and fat transfer procedures, Dr. McLaren is privileged and excited to be involved with cutting edge fat derived stem cell therapies and applications in all of these fields. Dr McLaren has been a teaching instructor in laser physics and aesthetic laser courses for physicians She has a particular interest in the research and development of regenerative medicine involving Stem cell harvesting from fat, and is honored to be an affiliate of the California Stem Cell Treatment Center investigating the treatment of multiple medical disorders affecting the joints, lungs, heart, and nervous system. As a pioneer in the field of aesthetic medicine for the last 10 years, I decided to open Skin Secrets by Dr. McLaren after years of experience in the cosmetic laser and aesthetic field. The Skin Secrets Medical Spa was founded in June of 2009 with an opening date in August of 2009. As the sole owner, CEO and full time medical director, I have been responsible for developing and implementing a business plan and budget for the clinic, all aspects of marketing including the design and development of the web site, clinic brochure and business cards.. My responsibilities as medical director include the hiring, supervision and training of all medical and support staff in the field of cosmetic dermatology and aesthetic laser procedures. Training encompasses educating all staff on the consultation process and evaluations of the aging face, as well as proper patient selection for aesthetic procedures, As an onsite, full time physician, I consult on anti-aging and health and wellness procedures and services offered at our clinic. I perform procedures, develop treatment plans, and manage the care of all patients which include treatment modalities such as liposcuplting using tumescent anesthesia, microdermabrasion, botulinum toxin injections, dermal fillers, facial sculpting with Poly-L-Lactic acid, laser hair removal, fotofacials, fractional resurfacing, both non-ablative and semi-ablative with the Smarttxide Dot Co2, laser, vein treatments, photodynamic therapy and acne treatments, skin tightening, and health and wellness services. I developed the consent forms and protocols for all procedures. I am responsible for the development, design and implementation of all marketing tools and strategies including the web site, monthly newsletter, blog, television segments, email blasts, direct to consumer mail campaigns, and Medical Spa functions including teaching seminars for patients, and networking strategies with other businesses including physician and dental practices, day spas, fitness facilities, etc.. I have implement several skin care regimens and educational materials for patients of various skin types including ethnic skin, and promoted the growth of a successful office based cosmeceutical skin care program. I developed and implemented a laser safely program for all members of my staff. In addition to my duties as a full time medical director and aesthetic physician, I have been lecturing and providing workshops on aesthetic procedures for other physicians, both locally and nationally for the last 6 years.
