Dr. Arata is an innovator in the treatment of dysautonomia. A graduate of UCSF School of Medicine, Dr. Arata completed his four year residency at Duke University Medical Center. Subsequently, he completed fellowship training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is double boarded as a diplomate of the American Board of Radiology, including a certificate of added qualification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He is also has board certification in Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. Having completed the Institute for Functional Medicine training program, Dr. Arata is also the only board certified interventionist fully trained in Functional Medicine. Accordingly, Dr. Arata’s approach to the treatment of autonomic disorders is unique in that he seeks not restore balance to the body as the foundation of his treatment program.

Dr. Arata was the first physician to recognize the potential of endovenous procedures to improve autonomic function. An internationally recognized expert in both the treatment of venous disease and interventional radiology, Dr. Arata has performed many thousands of image-guided surgical procedures This experience lead to development of a minimally invasive treatment for those suffering symptoms of dysautonomia. This treatment is called TVAM and has led to multiple publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. Dr. Arata also has a decade of experience in therapeutic injections. His current interest is the study of regenerative medicine as it applies to chronic disease and to orthopedic conditions.
